NEW YORK – The mother of a missing Winnipeg mother has told CBC News she wants the Canadian Forces to investigate how she was able to get her missing daughter home from the mall.
Police say a man spotted her car and told her she needed help.
He says the man then left the car and took off on foot and told the woman to keep an eye on her children.
The woman’s body was found at a shopping centre in the city’s west end a few days later.
She has been identified as 29-year-old Maria Carriere, of St. Boniface, Que.
Police have released a surveillance video of the man they say may have spotted her vehicle at the mall about 1 a.m.
They say they don’t believe the man left with the woman’s car, but it’s possible he was trying to get some type of money from someone.
Police released a video of a man they believe may have seen the woman on Feb. 16.
(CBC)Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact police.
